Lottie Moon/Operation Christmas Child Update
This past Christmas season, we saw God work in tremendous ways. One way we saw God work, specifically, was through the Lottie Moon Fund. This fund is used every year by the International Mission Board (IMB) to fund its overseas missionaries. The IMB had a total goal, this year, of $175 million.
Our church was able to raise $6591.85 to send to the IMB. 100% of these funds will be used to send missionaries around the world to preach the gospel. This directly correlates with our belief that "sending advances the gospel"! We are extremely thankful for partnerships with organizations like the IMB where we can see tangible evidences of this belief.
We also partnered with Samaritan's Purse and their ministry of Operation Christmas Child. Operation Christmas Child partners with local churches and organizations to pack individual shoeboxes as christmas presents for children in need around the world. Our goal as a church was to make 50 shoeboxes to be sent. This year, we were able to send over 70 shoeboxes! These boxes will be able to be used by Samaritan's Purse as a gateway to preach the gospel all over the world!
Spend time over the coming months to pray for the people receiving these gifts. As the gospel goes out through IMB missionaries or individual shoeboxes, pray that the people they come into contact with will be receptive to the gospel. Also, pray for more opportunities for us as a church to serve those in our community!
