Small Groups

Biblical fellowship is essential to the life of a growing Christian and to healthy church membership. Small Groups is where covenant members most often share life together and carry out the “one another’s.” In Small Groups covenant members gather in groups of 8-12 people on a regular basis to pursue “three vital relationships": intimacy with God, fellowship with believers, and influence with outsiders.

Small Groups are an opportunity for covenant members to “pursue growth together.” Groups typically include a time of fellowship with a shared meal or refreshments, sermon application discussion or an approved Bible study, and times of accountability and prayer.

Small Groups are not the only way to pursue spiritual growth, but they do provide an environment where covenant members can pursue the Lord in community, serve one another, and fulfill the Great Commission together. We strive for our Small Groups to be multi-generational in order to provide opportunities for more mature Christians to mentor and disciple new or younger Christians.

Though Small Groups are not required for membership, we believe covenant members will want to be a part of a Small Group.

Family Equipping

Renewal Church believes that the primary responsibility for the discipleship of children and youth lies with the parents. As parents seek to disciple their sons and daughters intentionally, worship with the gathered body of believers is an opportunity to model the joys and responsibility of covenant membership.

Renewal Kids

With Renewal, boys and girls will experience a great time of age-appropriate worship and teaching from God’s Word each Sunday morning. Renewal Church provides childcare for children from infants through 4 years old. In addition, children who are in kindergarten through 2nd grade may attend Renewal Kids Worship during the sermon portion of the weekly worship gathering. It is our desire for children over the age of 2nd grade to sit with his or her parents through the entire service.

Children who attend Renewal Kids Worship will sit through a short lesson and participate in activities from Marty Machowski’s Gospel Story Bible. This curriculum takes children through the narrative of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, revealing how all of Scripture points to Jesus.

Below are a few resources we use to partner with families as they disciple their children.

After Worship

After Worship is a brief time of sermon based discussion immediately following the service for kids who no longer attend Renewal Kids Worship and attend worship with their parents. There are kids worship guides available at the Renewal Kids Check-in table to help kids follow along with the sermon. If you have any questions about Renewal Kids or After Worship please feel free to contact us at children@renewalanderson.org.

Renewal Big Kids

Renewal Big Kids is an opportunity for families with students (age or grade) to have teaching and fellowship that will point them to Christ and bridge the ages between Renewal Kids and Student Ministry. Renewal Big Kids meets several times a year for a time of Bible teaching, application, and discussion of local and world missions.

Renewal Student Ministry

Renewal Church provides opportunities for families with students (6th - 12th grade) through our Student Discipleship Groups. These groups are an opportunity for students to dig deeper into God's Word and build accountable relationships with peers and group leaders. For more information about Renewal’s Student Ministry please contact us at info@renewalanderson.org.

College Ministry

Our desire is to pursue college students in the Anderson area with the gospel of Jesus Christ to fulfill the mission of Renewal Church, to make disciples of all people for God’s glory. We seek to reach college students with the good news of the gospel, see their lives transformed, and connect them meaningfully to the church.  We hope that Renewal can be a church home for you during your college years!

The primary way we seek to serve college students is by integrating them into the life of the church. This happens through weekly participation in corporate worship, multigenerational Community Groups, as well as several college specific events and ministry opportunities. These include college lunches at church members’ homes, weekly college bible study for men and women and one-to-one discipleship.
